Step One: Take a Tour of Shakespeare's Globe

    • Notice the shape and layout of the theatre

 

Step Two: Sketch & Label Shakespeare's Globe

On a blank sheet of paper, sketch Shakespeare's Theatre. Label some of the spaces within the Globe after our class discussion. You may want to include some of the following: 

 

  • Heaven, Earth, and Hell
  • The Groundlings or Penny Stinkards
  • Make note of the flag color as it relates to the plays of Comedy, Tragedy, and History
  • What time of day were the performances? Why? The Globe Theatre
