Building Background Knowledge and Establishing Context

Building Background Knowledge

Start research by finding a solid overview article of your topic from an encyclopedia or chapter of a book.  These tertiary sources should be used to establish context, learn the academic vocabulary, important events and people.

While reading, keep track of potential search terms, keywords, and concepts to research further.
