2) Watch the video from Craig & Fred (1 minute 22 seconds)

3) Consider the sacrifices our servicemen and women make.

4) Share your gratitude!  Write a letter to an active duty military member overseas.  Each handwritten letter will be delivered to an active duty military member serving overseas.

  • Be positive!  Include art work or drawings
    • Negative messages will not be sent
    • Please do not fold letters
  • Read a sample letter as a class (three letters are linked).
  • Display the Letter Writing Tips slide

5) Collect completed letters during Learning Seminar 3.

  • Teachers, please scan the letters for negative messages, and send to the library by 3pm on Friday, Nov. 30.

6) Display the Ram Values slide.  As a class, read the Ram Values definitions of "empathy" and "resilience."  Discuss:

  • What connections to these Ram Values can you make with military service to our country and writing letters to troops?
