Rams Reading Rally: One Book Lesson

Craig & Fred

Craig & Fred

For the One Book Lesson, we have selected a number of resources that you may use in your classes.

You may either follow the scripted lesson (linked here), or else choose from any of the resources below. We recommend:

  1. Have students read one or more of the news/background articles and share out their findings (10-15 minutes)
  2. Watch one or more of the compiled videos on service animals or the impact of post-traumatic stress (3-7 minutes per video selected)
  3. Read the excerpt (below) from Craig and Fred to discuss what makes Fred so unique (10 minutes)

Based on student interest or teacher preference, including more material could extend this lesson to 60 minutes. If time is a factor, the beginning articles could be omitted in favor of just a video or two and the excerpt/discussion.
