How do you create an effective PSA? What research is important? What should you include? What should you avoid? How do you organize your findings? Complete the activities on this page to begin thinking about what you should research next class. 

PSAs

PSA Defined: “A PSA is a video created to raise awareness and change public attitudes and behavior toward a social issue. PSAs often have a powerful message that sticks with the viewer, sometimes becoming part of society’s collective psyche” (Scholastic). 
Activity: 

  1. Open the article linked to the right
  2. Read and discuss the article as a class
  3. At your table, discuss what you learned and complete the PSA guidelines doc (make your own copy and take your own notes)

Extension Opportunity: Create a video that can be shown on GMR or during advisory.
