2019-2020: Image Analysis: Introduction

Introduction

Image Analysis

Keeping up with current events often feels like a full time job. The news cycles can change from moment to moment, and it's not easy to know what information can be trusted or believed. As we scroll through our media feeds, scan articles online, and encounter information from a wide variety of sources, we must begin considering the CREDIBILITY, the ACCURACY, the RELIABILITY, and the DATE of our information. We must also seek multiple perspectives, because it can be difficult to find unbiased information. For today's activity, you will scrutinize images and think about the following:

How does personal bias and the tendency to make quick judgments impact our understanding of current issues?

How does the narrative (the story) change from one source to another?

Why do these ideas matter?
